About Me

My name is Cecelia, or CC, I am 20 and studying a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Creative Writing!

I moved to a Montessorri inspired school in year 7 and my attitude towards learning completely changed. Now, having achieved a 91 ATAR and completed my first year of university, I am certain I would have given up trying to navigate education a long time ago, if I had continued standard schooling. The standard education system does not suit a massive portion of the population. As someone with ADHD I experienced this first hand. It wears us down, makes us feel incapable and trapped, extinguishes inspiration and passion. Not everyone has access to alternative schooling, so I offer my services as a guide through an education system that is often unaccommodating. A school Obi-Wan, if you will!

I believe in student-driven education, and build tailored programs to suit each students need. I focus on supporting the development of learning skills - i.e. the skills required for students to question, research, and lead themselves through their own learning.

I have been professionally tutoring for 6 months with a company, which - I'm aware - is a relatively short amount of time. In that time I have found working with students and finding the methods of learning that work best for them incredibly rewarding. Prior to this, I was editor and help for my friends in high school, who also found the education system lacking support. I have worked with students with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, depression, and all manner of other circumstances that make school that little bit harder.

I endeavour to foster a welcoming and flexible learning environment that encourages differences and adjusts the learning to them!

I am most well-versed in the subjects English, History, and Latin, as those are the subjects I studied throughout high school and continue to study in university. Though I am open to discussing how I can help with other subjects!
